Modern Bathroom Design NZ
This was a project that turned an old, tired, very dated bathroom toilet area into a large modern bathroom for a family of 6. It was previously a separate bathroom and toilet room.
The client was absolutely delighted with the finished room.
Modern Bathroom Design Plan
The client wanted a separate shower and bath as there was previously a shower over a bath. A large vanity and extra storage was also requested. Tiled floor was the desired option.

The heated towel ladder is fitted at the end of the bath higher on the wall than normal. It was RCD protected and was the minimum allowance above the water line. The bath has a shower mixer fitted half way along the wall for easy operation. The bath is tiled to 450mm above on all 3 walls. The toilet is a back to wall model and his hidden from the doorway by the shower.

The bath has a waterfall spout fitted. The vanity is a wall hung model with 1 large basin and 2 basin mixers. A hand towel rail was fitted to each end. It was set up as a double vanity. The 3 door mirror cabinet fitted above the vanity has a light above and a double power point inside. Next to the vanity is a tall 1 door tower for that extra “bulk storage”. The tall tower and mirror cabinet are set at the same height. Feature tiles are used behind the basin mixers and the bath spout to create a bit of “drama”.

The door had to me moved along the wall to fit the new shower in. The shower is a 1000mm round front model with sliding doors. The skirting tile can be seen under the vanity. This ran around the base of all the walls at a height of 120mm.
Modern Bathroom Design D Elevation
The shower is an acrylic 1000mm round front with a flat wall liner. Inside the shower there is an easy clean waste, shower mixer, slide shower and stainless steel baskets. The heated towel ladder is fitted above the tile line. It is installed with concealed wiring back to a single switch.
General Views of the Modern Bathroom Design in 3D
The floor was tiled with the same tile that is around the base of the bath. We have changed the floor tiles to show what we can do with the design options.
Gaps between fittings are essential and good design standards. See how the lighting causes a reflective effect on the handles and mirror.
The bath is an acrylic model with elbow & neck supports moulded in
There is very good space in the middle of the room for use of all the fittings.
Above the shower is an extra low voltage shower fan/light fitted with a run on timer set at 20 minutes. The ceiling had LED downlights fitted. We have attached an exterior scene to the windows to create a more realistic image.
