Modern Bathroom Designs
In this house the owner wanted to create a totally new bathroom in what was previously the dining room. We worked with the owner to keep with both the style and age (1920’s) of the home as they wanted to have a ‘modern’ bathroom but still in keeping with the ‘villa’ style. Hence the wood grain vanity and the older style freestanding bath.

Modern Bathroom Designs Overview
This overview gives an effective birds eye-view which helps some people. In this case it shows the tiles do not go to the ceiling.
Modern Bathroom Designs Elevation A
The timber vanity and tall tower were chosen as they were in keeping with the character and style as used in the rest of the house. Both of these were custom made to suit.
The Elevations are very good at showing the proportions of the room. Due to the high stud height of this room we decided to take the tiles to door height as this has the effect of ‘bringing down’ the ceiling.
Modern Bathroom Designs Elevation B
A ‘modern’ clawfoot bath was also specified which is in keeping with the villa character of the home. The existing window was kept and incorporated into this bathroom design.
Modern Bathroom Designs Elevation C
The partial tile wall between the shower and the toilet acts as a privacy wall, also giving a suitable place to mount the toilet roll holder. It also allows natural light into the shower, yet does not enclose the bathroom as a fully tiled wall would do.
Modern Bathroom Designs Elevation D
As the floor and shower tray are tiled in a different colour to the walls the shower step shows in this image. Also if there was a tile feature in the shower, on this wall, it would be visible in this view.
